Choosing or breeding a Standard Schnauzer is a real decision, and good decisions come from good information. Schnauzerlist is a place to discover kennels, compare, follow threads, and learn — not a place that decides for you. We'd rather hand you the map than tell you where to go.
History matters
Kennels come and go, lists get pruned, and knowledge quietly gets lost. Let's keep the names of the kennels that shaped the breed, the ones still are hard at work, and the ones that are just starting the journey together. Preserving history is part of serving the community that made it.
Inclusive by default
We don't gate the list behind club membership, a particular registry, or any single way of doing things. Breeders make different choices — about registries, about ears and tails, about how they raise and place their dogs — and this directory records those choices as information, not judgment. Our job is to show what's known and trust you to decide what matters to you.
Everyone is listed. No one pays for placement.
There is no featured tier, no preferred-breeder badge, no pay-to-rank. Every kennel appears on the same footing, in the same list. Inclusion isn't a reward we hand out — it's the whole point. A directory that quietly favors some breeders over others isn't a directory; it's an advertisement.
A work in progress, in the open
This directory will never be "finished." It will be corrected, expanded, and improved over time — and much of that will come from you, the breeders and owners who know the breed best. Community isn't a tagline; it's how the thing gets built.
